WHO WE ARE
Established in 2016, Pristine Life Enhancement & Advancement Foundation (PLEAF) is a community-focused non-profit organization committed to improving the lives of underserved and vulnerable communities across the South-South region of Nigeria.
Our work focuses on five key areas: Skills Acquisition & Empowerment, Healthcare & Health Awareness, Rural & Community Development, Agriculture & Food Security, and Education.
- Skills Acquisition & Empowerment: We provide vocational and entrepreneurial training, particularly for women and young people, helping beneficiaries develop practical skills for self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods.
- Healthcare & Health Awareness: We improve access to healthcare through medical, eye-care and dental outreaches, health education, medicines, eyeglasses, mosquito nets and our annual three-day medical outreach.
- Rural & Community Development: We support underserved communities through the provision of food items and other essential relief materials, while contributing to nutrition, social amenities and community wellbeing.
- Agriculture & Food Security: We have hectares of land dedicated to palm farming, producing palm oil while ensuring the palm kernel and other resources are fully utilized. Our agricultural activities support food security, livelihoods and sustainable development.
- Education: Through our Back-to-School Initiative, we provide pupils with essential items such as sandals, school bags and writing materials, while also supporting education through scholarships.
Experience & Partnerships
Since our establishment, PLEAF has implemented community-based interventions across Port Harcourt and other communities within the South-South region, working with professionals, volunteers, institutions and partner organizations to deliver programmes effectively.
Our experience also extends beyond conventional community settings. We have carried out interventions among vulnerable populations in institutional settings, including custodial centres, providing healthcare and other essential support in collaboration with relevant professionals and institutions.
We believe meaningful impact is strengthened through partnership and collaboration. PLEAF has worked with organizations including Fountain of Joy & Comfort, Horizon International Medical Mission Incorporated, and the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA), Nigeria, Rivers State Branch. These collaborations have supported initiatives in healthcare, visual impairment, community support and other areas of need.
We remain open to working with donors, foundations, development agencies, government institutions, corporate organizations and other partners to design and implement sustainable interventions that respond to the needs of underserved communities.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES
1. Improve access to health care in vulnerable populations through health education, preventive care, and interventions.
2. To empower individuals and communities through skill building, and social inclusion to foster stability, independence, and sustainability.
3. To provide Support (through both resources and training) for farmers in the South-South region to adopt organic farming methods to improve agricultural productivity & aid nutrition
4. To enable access to education
5. To help improve hygiene in these communities by providing social amenities.
Our Programs
1. HEALTH
At PLEA Foundation we have a commitment to improving the access communities have to health care and information. Our health program is designed to address prevalent health needs in the southern region of Nigeria, each year to commemorate the World Sight Day we host a free medical outreach where beneficiaries undergo comprehensive eye exams and are given drugs and glasses in acccordance to the doctor's prescription in support of this we also conduct checks and investigations addressing broader health issues like ( Blood Sugar, Hepatitis B & C, HIV, Malaria Parasite) to enable early detection and treatment also fostering the importance or these checks to be inputted into a regular routine.
A comon disease in the south south is Malaria and as a preventive measure all beneficiaries of our outreaches are issued mosqito nets. Through these outreaches PLEA foundation is gradually bridging the gap in health care and health illiteracy, creating a ripple of change one community at a time. Our medical outreaches have made a huge progress but as we go further we are expanding into the area of breast cancer screenngs, cervical screenings and surgeries as we believe that this screenings can easily detect, treat or manage deadly health issues.
2. SKILLS ACQUISITION and EMPOWERMENT
To address the challenge of youth unemployement we offer a range of both digital and vocational skills training in areas such as soap making, nylon production, disinfectant production, baking, basic computer literacy, ICT and more. These programs are designed to equip participants with skills for enterpreneurship and self sufficiency.
We dont just stop at training we also provide essential start up equipements and tools to our beneficiaries, this suport is crucial for enabling individuals transform from training to practical application. Our goal is to increase independence, promote sustainability and reduce social vices often related to the high unemployement rate in youths of the South South region.
3. Rural Developement
Fostering rural developments through comprehensive initiatives, at PLEA we are dedicated to uplifting undeserved communities in the Southern region of Nigeria . Our efforts focus on impoving the quality of life through education and scholarships, agriculture, WASH (water, sanitation, hygiene) projects.
Education has always been a catalyst for positive impact in any community; however in underserved communities financial constraint often hinder quality education. To address this we not only sensitize about the importance of education but also provide scholarships to support those facing financial barriers.
Through our agriculture programs we address nutritional deficiencies, our initiative features sensitization of farmers on the importance of cultivating healthy and nutritional crops, adaptation of better farming practices and ensuring hygienic food processing. In line with this farmers are given support either through free seedlings, fertilizers or market linkage.
Our Impact
Since our founding, the Pristine Life Enhancement Foundation has made significant strides in improving health outcomes for countless individuals. Our Eye Institute Hospital has performed thousands of sight-restoring surgeries, our health education programs have reached numerous communities, and our malaria control efforts have significantly reduced the incidence of the disease. Through the provision of medical supplies, we have bolstered the capacity of healthcare facilities, ensuring that more people receive the care they need.
