About PLEA
What does PLEA Foundation do?
PLEA Foundation, or Pristine Life Enhancement and Advancement Foundation, is a Nigerian nonprofit that improves access to healthcare, practical skills, education and sustainable livelihoods for underserved communities. Its work spans five connected programme areas: healthcare and eye health, skills and empowerment, rural development, education access, and community resilience.
Which communities does PLEA Foundation serve?
PLEA Foundation serves underserved and vulnerable communities across Nigeria's South-South region, working from its base in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Is PLEA Foundation a registered organisation?
Yes. PLEA Foundation is registered with the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission under CAC/IT/NO 85980 and was founded in 2016 in Rivers State.
Impact
What has PLEA Foundation achieved?
At its most recently reported medical outreach, PLEA screened more than 520 people. During the 2024 outreach, 428 people received comprehensive eye-care services, including examinations, prescribed glasses and follow-up care. The annual medical outreach runs across three days.

How does PLEA Foundation follow up after an outreach?
Care does not stop on outreach day. For every individual treated during the eye-care programme, PLEA offered a free two-month follow-up in partnership with Pristine Eye Care, with pathways to surgical intervention where it is needed.
