Explore programme : Healthcare and eye healthA Nigerian nonprofit connecting immediate care to long-term independence for underserved communities across the South-South.
Pristine Life Enhancement and Advancement Foundation, known publicly as PLEA Foundation, is a Nigerian nonprofit serving underserved and vulnerable communities across the country's South-South region. We were founded in 2016 and are registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission under CAC/IT/NO 85980, working from Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
We are not an outside agency arriving with a solution. We are a local body that already understands the terrain, and we build around each community's actual conditions.
Health, income, education and community resilience are not separate problems. A family that cannot see clearly cannot work. A community without clean water cannot stay healthy. A young person without training cannot escape the cycle that made them vulnerable in the first place.
So our programmes connect immediate care to long-term independence, from eye care and public-health screening through to vocational training, education, agriculture and community development. Change works when everything connects.
A screening is only the beginning. During our eye-care programme, every individual treated was offered a free two-month follow-up in partnership with Pristine Eye Care, with pathways to surgical intervention where it was needed. Access, clinical checks, prescribed glasses, follow-up and referral belong together. Delivering one without the others is not care, it is a photograph.
Our outreaches bring professionals, volunteers and institutional partners together around a specific community need. Every claim we publish carries a number, a reporting period and a source. Where we cannot substantiate a figure, we do not print one.
Each programme exists because the others cannot succeed without it.
