Our programmes

Agriculture and food security

Palm farming, support for indigenous farmers, and the market links that turn a harvest into an income.

Food security in the South South depends on smallholders, and smallholders are usually short of three things: inputs, knowledge and a fair buyer.

Palm farming

We hold hectares of land given over to palm farming. It produces palm oil, and the palm kernel and remaining material are put to use rather than discarded. The farm supports livelihoods and contributes to our own sustainability as an organisation.

Supporting indigenous farmers

This scheme is planned and not yet running. It will offer farmers quality seedlings, fertiliser and access to leased farmland, together with training in sustainable practice. The final part matters as much as the inputs: market connections, so that produce sells at a fair price and the work is actually rewarded.

When farmers do well, the communities around them do well. That is the reason this sits alongside our health and education work rather than apart from it.

Connected work

everything connects.
