Explore programme : Healthcare and eye healthRelief materials, water and sanitation, and the community support that underserved areas ask for first.
We work with underserved communities across Port Harcourt and the wider South South, and we start by asking what is actually needed rather than arriving with a plan.
We distribute food items and other essential relief materials, which supports nutrition and takes pressure off households at the points where they are least able to absorb it.
This project is planned and not yet running. Waterborne illness remains one of the largest preventable causes of death among young children in this region. The plan is to establish community water points and build sanitation facilities, alongside hygiene education, so that access to safe water stops being the reason a child falls ill.
Our work extends to populations that are easy to overlook. We have provided healthcare and essential support inside custodial centres, working with the professionals and institutions responsible for them.
This programme does not stand alone. Here is the rest of it.
